Hymix and Mesh Direct’s collaboration feels like the natural progression of two companies with the same strong values: quality, safety, customer service, and environmental sustainability. For over 50 years, Hymix has been ahead of the curve in providing premium customised concrete solutions to private clients and developers alike. They consistently deliver quality and expertise across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. So when they reached out to Mesh Direct for a helping hand rebranding their aggregate silo signage at the Pyrmont plant, we were more than happy to bring our expertise and creative solutions to the table!

The Hymix silo in Pyrmont has become an iconic Sydney landmark, and Mesh Direct was honoured to participate in its makeover. Rebranded with Hymix’s new logo and 100% carbon neutral signage, it’s the perfect reflection of Hymix’s values and brand identity – and it’s great to see Mesh Direct’s commitment to a more sustainable future in big and bold as well!

The Challenge

Nothing worthwhile is ever straightforward, right? This ambitious project presented a few technical and creative challenges that kept the team on their toes.

First and foremost, the Pyrmont site is more or less in use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with concrete trucks coming to and from all over Sydney at all hours of the day. We had to find a weekend when the site was fully closed and carry out the installation within a very tight timeframe. October long weekend was the perfect opportunity! And the teams managed to finish the bulk of the work within the hairy three-day deadline.

The height of the silo itself presented another physical challenge. A 90-foot boom lift allowed us to access most of the silo, but the rest of the surface had to be accessed by rope. This required stringent safety protocols on top of existing COVID protocols, and a lot of logistical brain-power.

Finally, both Hymix and Mesh Direct have made environmental sustainability a top priority, so that Hymix worked hard to find a carbon-neutral solution for their rebrand. That’s where we come in! Mesh Direct guarantees 100% carbon neutral signage that looks stunning without costing the Earth.

The Product

Due to the nature of the silo’s surface, billboards or other forms of signage would have been complicated to install. Instead, we decided to use Dulux Weathershield paint and a matching acrylic undercoat, which is UV resistant and guarantees 10 years of dazzling good looks. Thanks to patented MaxiFlex Stretch technology, we know the gorgeous graphics will withstand whatever the New South Wales weather throws at them!

The Result

The results speak for themselves: the silo is a perfect reflection of Hymix’s commitment to quality and sustainability. Their new logo and colours project reliability, innovation, and professionalism, and we’re so excited to see what the future holds for them – we know Mesh Direct will be a part of it!
