In early 2022 Mesh Direct partnered with Scenic World, located in the beautiful blue mountains since 1945. Scenic World is home to the world’s steepest passenger train and the southern hemisphere’s steepest aerial cable car. They’re known for offering their local, domestic and international guests a nature-based experience with kilometres of elevated rainforest boardwalks. This unique business is just one of many we work with at Mesh Direct, that pride themselves on a memorable customer experience. This customer experience is always helped delivered by exceptional identification, directional, informational, and regulatory signage. On this occasion, Mesh Direct were engaged by Scenic World to create informational signage for a new art installation, Light Up The Night, that would take place throughout April.

The Challenge

On show during the month of April, Scenic World installed 50,000 lights across the site, transforming Scenic World and some of the Blue Mountains’ most iconic landmarks when the sun went down. Katoomba Falls, Orphan Rock and part of the escarpment were all lit up as part of a BMCC’s evening light display. Mesh Direct were engaged to create promotional signage for Light Up The Night to attract guests during the day to return at night.

We already had a captured audience, targeting guests who were already on site. Therefore, the challenge for this particular job was to convert a captured audience into repeat visitation through bright and engaging signage. The Light Up The Night branding already met the criteria for bright and engaging, so it was now up to Mesh Direct to render its effectiveness across to a suitable signage solution.

The Product

The product we decided to work with was a 9×9 economy banner mesh. This popular product provides excellent structure, good quality and the ideal blank canvas to put any brand front and centre. It’s commonly used for temporary fencing, scaffolding branding, and building wraps. In this instance, Scenic World used it for temporary fencing. Banner Mesh is a UV stabilised perforated PVC product making it more solid than shade cloth. Its reliability and durability suited the time period in which the event was taking place, and we knew it would be sturdy enough to withstand the weather in the Blue Mountains at that time of year.

The Result

This job was a smooth one from start to finish. We faced no significant challenges or roadblocks, allowing the team at Mesh Direct to deliver a fantastic signage solution for Scenic World. The economy banner mesh was a great budget-friendly option for promoting the Light Up the Night event taking place throughout April. We are thrilled to have assisted Scenic World with this wonderful event that highlights the beauty of regional New South Wales, attracting not only repeat but new visitation to the region.
